Europe's most famous CrossFit® competition hosts the semi-finals of the CrossFit® Games in Lyon, at the LDLC Arena.
This year, Europe's most famous CrossFit® competition hosts the semi-finals of the CrossFit® Games in Lyon, at the 11,000-seat capacity LDLC Arena.
For over 10 years, this has been a must-see event for French and European CrossFit® athletes, coaches and owners. The French Throwdown (FTD) is much more than just a
CrossFit® competition. Over the course of three days, an entire community with a shared passion and common values comes together. "When I think of the event, I think of the dozens, hundreds hundreds of heads who, perhaps, will meet once a year at the time of the French Throwdown, explained Daniel Chaffey, international director at CrossFit® and founder of "French" in 2023. It's an opportunity for a moment of contact, connection and socialization. It's an opportunity to celebrate CrossFit®."
Over the years, the French Throwdown has continued to grow, establishing itself as the largest gathering of the CrossFit® community in Europe. In 2023 the FTD celebrated its tenth edition at the Vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and its organizers couldn't be prouder of how far we've come. Every year, more and more of you take part in this big celebration that is The French Throwdown.
In 2024, the French Throwdown takes on a new dimension. It will host the European semi-finals of the CrossFit® Games and leaves the velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, becoming part of the 2024 Olympic Games. Heading for Lyon and the LDLC Arena, a magnificent 11,000-seat venue.
Opened in November 2023, this multi-purpose sports hall will host a competition bringing together the best crossfitters in Europe looking to secure their ticket to the CrossFit® Games which will take place in August in the USA. "A competition combining excellence and high-level with the CrossFit Games semi-finals, and the intensity and warm atmosphere of the CrossFit CrossFit community for twice the excitement", says the French Throwdown organization.
In addition to the athletes competing on the floor, there will be plenty of CrossFit®-related entertainment and activities available. A spectator training area will be set up outdoors. You'll be able to attend workshops (weightlifting, gymnastics, aerobic capacity) and take part in CrossFit® activities throughout the weekend, led by members of the CrossFit® staff.
To help you get to know each other better, you can take advantage of the partner village. Here you'll find the event’s main partner stands such as Northern Spirit, Wodabox or Fitaid and many other brands. Hustle Up, also a main partner of the French Throwdown, will of course have its own space to welcome you. You'll be able to chat with our team, get a demo of our app, share your needs and discover the latest features.
