RPE, a new feature on Hustle Up

The Rate of Perceived Exhaustion (RPE) allows coaches to indicate the level of intensity to be reached by athletes.

The Rate of Perceived Exhaustion (RPE) is a powerful tool for coaches to indicate to athletes the level of intensity to be felt during a workout.

What is RPE?

Born in the world of running, RPE is also applicable to power sports such as CrossFit®. With RPE, coaches can tell their athletes at what rate of perceived exertion they should perform an exercise, using a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the maximum rate of perceived exertion.

In this way, coaches can enrich their exercises, and therefore their programming, to provide maximum information.

From the athlete's point of view, the RPE provides a perfect understanding of the intensity required by the coach, as the same exercise can be performed at different intensities, but the objective will not be the same.

Intensity of effort is a subjective notion in sport, which varies according to the athlete and his or her current level of fitness and preparation. That's why the RPE makes so much sense, so that everyone can work at the same intensity, but at his or her own level.

How do I add RPE?

When creating an exercise in your program, you have the option of adding an RPE. Simply select the RPE option and choose the level of intensity you want your athletes to work at for the exercise you've created.
