Torian Pro takes a stand against domestic violence

Hustle Up·23 mai 2024

The memory of Hannah Clarke and her three children will be celebrated on Saturday May 25 in Australia.

The CrossFit® Games semifinals kicked off on May 17, 2024 and continue this week. After Europe and Asia, it's time for the US West Coast and Oceania with the West Coast Classic and Torian Pro respectively. The Pat Rafter Arena will host the best athletes from Oceania from May 24 to 26. All will be battling it out for 8 tickets to the CrossFit® Games finals (4 men and 4 women). But alongside the competition, the Torian Pro is also mobilizing against domestic violence. Saturday May 25 will be "Paint the Pro Pink" day, and we expect to see volunteers, athletes and spectators wearing pink t-shirts for the occasion. The "Paint the Pro Pink" day celebrates the memory of Hannah Clarke and her three children, who tragically disappeared in 2020, victims of Rowan Charles Baxter, a jealous, possessive and violent husband and father. On February 19, 2020, he committed the unthinkable: he emptied a jerry can of gasoline into his wife's car, where his children were also staying. He set fire to the car. His children did not survive, and Hannah, 97% burned, later died in hospital. The murderer, on the other hand, committed suicide by stabbing himself in the middle of the street. This incident has deeply shocked Australia, and Torian Pro wishes to affirm its support for all women who are victims of domestic violence. May 25 will be a day of competition, of course, but also a day to raise awareness of the violence suffered by women. As a sign of support, the Torian Pro is inviting everyone present at the Pat Rafter Arena on that day to wear a pink T-shirt. And to support the Small Steps 4 Hannah Foundation, which will be on hand to raise funds.
